There was no evidence of hematologic, hepatic, or renal toxicity, but mild gastrointestinal side effects occurred in a majority of anemic volunteers. Single doses of 1,000 to 10,000 mg of carbonyl iron (15 to 150 times the 65 mg of iron in the usual dose of ferrous sulphate) were tolerated by volunteers with no evidence of toxicity and only minor gastrointestinal side effects. 1

Adenosylcobalamin vs Methylcobalamin |
|
Adfer also contains 500mcg of Adenosylcobalamine, a naturally occurring form of vitamin B12 found in foods. It is the bioactive coenzyme form of vitamin B12; the forms which our bodies really need.
All other forms of vitamin B12 must first be converted into methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin inside the body, in order to be utilized.2 Adenosylcobalamin plays a vital role in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. The mitochondria depend on the breakdown and burning of these food types in order to make energy. Without this form of vitamin B12, burning these food substances becomes inefficient. This causes elevated lactic acid, exercise intolerance, fatigue, pain, mitochondria problems, and other errors of metabolism. In more serious circumstances, it can lead to the metabolic acidosis just mentioned. 3 Adfer contains the bioactive coenzyme reducing metabolic acidosis.
Adfer contains other B vitamins as well like Folic Acid (B9) which plays vital role in RBC production and DNA synthesis and it reduces the incidence of neural tube defect. Also it contains Pyridoxine (B6), needed for normal brain development and function, and helps the body make the hormones serotonin and norepinephrine, which influence mood, and melatonin, which helps regulate the body clock.
Also an essential mineral found in Adfer is Zinc Monomethionine. Zinc is a trace mineral essential for protein synthesis, normal wound healing, immune function, and many other basic cellular functions.
